A 17.5" Curb Double Albert Chain in 15ct Gold
A 17.5" Curb Double Albert Chain in 15ct Gold
A superb antique 17.5” curb double Albert chain crafted in 15ct antique yellow gold. This beautiful and substantial chain is an everyday classic. It is unusual to find a 15ct chain of this length in such good condition.
The chain can be worn Albert style, with the T bar at the front, or the T bar can be moved to the back of the neck for a simpler, elegant curb look. A pendant can be added to the dog clips if desired.
The chain dates from the beginning of the 20th century. It measures approximately 17.5 inches/44.5cm long and weighs 61g.
The links are all substantial and uniform in size. They measure approximately 7.5mm x 6.4mm x 2mm. Every link is stamped with ‘15 .625’ for 15ct gold. Some of the stamps are quite worn due to the age of the chain.
The dog clips are also stamped with ‘15 .625’ for 15ct gold. They are quite large, measuring approximately 24mm from end to end. The dog clips appear to be original to the chain.
The T bar is stamped with ‘15 .625’ for 15ct gold. It is also stamped with a sponsor’s mark, possibly ‘JES’. The T bar is a particularly good size - it measures 46mm x 4mm. It is hollow.
Please look carefully at all the photographs as they form part of the description. Please be aware that this is an antique piece of jewellery and as such shows some signs of wear.
The pendant and other pieces of jewellery are not included.
