An Edwardian Paste Crescent Brooch Set in Silver

An Edwardian Paste Crescent Brooch Set in Silver

£65.00

A lovely Edwardian diamond paste crescent brooch set in silver. The crescent is quite large - it would be a good, celestial addition to a jewellery collection.

The crescent measures 56mm across and weighs 4.2g. It has a full hallmark on the back for silver, Chester, 1901. It is also stamped with the maker’s mark ‘AJS’. The brooch is hollow. The pin may be a replacement - it is made from base metal. It is not suitable for conversion to a pendant as there is some evidence of lead solder behind the pin fitting.

The paste stones are quite bright and have good sparkle. They are largely well matched; some stones are a bit whiter than others. The largest paste stone in the centre of the crescent measures 4.7mm across.

Please look at all the photographs as they form part of the description. Please note that this is an antique piece of jewellery as such shows some signs of wear.

Shipping using the Royal Mail insured, tracked and signed for service with insurance up to £250 is included in the price, if it is available to your location. Shipping by DHL Express with full insurance and more rapid delivery can be selected at checkout for a flat rate of GBP£40.
