An Antique Jewellery Box in Pale Blue Velvet with Liberty of London Lid
An Antique Jewellery Box in Pale Blue Velvet with Liberty of London Lid
A wonderful small antique jewellery box crafted in pale blue velvet and Liberty of London tana lawn. This box has space for approximately five rings or pairs of earrings in cushions at the top of the box. Around the cushions there are five compartments for other pieces of jewellery such as chains and pendants. This beautiful box is the perfect place to display and store your collection of jewellery - it is ideal for the nightstand or dressing table.
The inside of the lid of this beautiful box is crafted in Liberty of London tana lawn with their iconic Art Nouveau Ianthe design in navy blue, turquoise, brown & cream. The edge of the lid is lined with the same pale blue cotton velvet that is used in the base of the box. The box closes with its original, flip over brass clasp. It is covered with brown faux leather and has an ornate gold frame around the inside edge of the box. The lid lays flat when the box is open. The box dates from the early part of the 20th century.
The external measurements of the box at its widest points are approximately 21cm X 11cm X 6cm tall. This is an antique box that has been repurposed as a jewellery box.
