An Art Nouveau Diamond Necklace
An Art Nouveau Diamond Necklace
A wonderful Art Nouveau necklace set with beautiful rose cut diamonds crafted in 9ct yellow gold. This is a particularly elegant piece with the fluid design typical of the Art Nouveau era. The necklace has a shamrock or clover to the centre with slightly raised leaves below, surrounded by a swirl of diamonds. The three leaves of the clover or shamrock are said to symbolise faith, hope and love. The diamonds are all present and give the necklace the magical sparkle typical of rose cut diamonds. This is a really beautiful and wearable piece.
The necklace measures approximately 18” long and is crafted in 9ct yellow gold. The necklace weighs 6.5g.
The diamonds are rose cut and are set in claw settings with closed backs. The necklace has an estimated diamond weight of 1.75 carats. The diamond component measures approximately 31mm across.
This piece was a brooch that has been repurposed as a necklace. The pin has been removed and a fine 9ct gold belcher chain has been added with a bolt ring clasp. The original brooch dates from approximately 1910. The chain was part of a repurposed vintage chain.
This is an antique necklace and as such shows some signs of wear as one would expect with a piece of its age. Please look at the photographs as they form part of the description. There is some evidence of lead solder on the reverse of the clover.
The other chains and pendants are not included.
