A 16" Large Curb Link Double Albert Chain in 9ct Gold

A 16" Large Curb Link Double Albert Chain in 9ct Gold
A wonderful antique 16” large curb double Albert chain with a detachable T bar and double dog clip clasps. This beautiful chain is a substantial, everyday classic. It has particularly lovely link and overall look.
The watch chain is a particularly versatile piece. It can be worn Albert style with the T bar clipped to the dog clips at the front, or the T bar can be removed and the chain can be worn on its own, or to suspend a statement pendant or charms. The chain attached to the T bar can also be used to extend the chain slightly to 16.5”/42cm long, if desired. The chain could also be doubled up and worn as a bracelet.
The chain is crafted in 9ct rich antique yellow gold. The chain measures approximately 16”inches/41cm long and weighs 42.8g. It dates from the beginning of the 20th century.
The links are uniform in size. They measure approximately 13.5mm x 7.4mm x 2mm. Every link is stamped with ‘9 375’ for 9ct gold.
One of the dog clips is stamped with ‘9C’ for 9ct gold, the other has the maker’s mark of ‘M&M’. Both dog clips are a good size, measuring approximately 23mm from end to end.
The T bar is stamped with ‘9 .375’ for 9ct gold. It is also stamped with the sponsor’s mark of ‘EW’. The T bar measures 38mm across.
Please look carefully at all the photographs as they form part of the description. Please be aware that this is an antique piece of jewellery and as such shows some signs of wear.
The pendant and other pieces of jewellery are not included.
