A 17.5" Double Albert Chain in Silver

A 17.5" Double Albert Chain in Silver
A wonderful Victorian 17.5” curb double Albert chain crafted in silver. This beautiful and substantial chain is an everyday classic. It can be worn Albert style, with the T bar at the front, or the T bar can be moved to the back of the neck for a simpler, elegant curb look.
The chain measures approximately 17.5”/44.5cm long and weighs 51.5g. The chain’s T bar is on a separate length of chain that forms part of the 17.5” total length. This part of the chain measures 5cm long; it can be removed and used separately. The remaining chain can be worn wrapped twice around the wrist as a bracelet.
The chain’s links are quite substantial and uniform in size. They measure approximately 8mm x 7mm x 2mm. The chain is crafted in antique silver. It has the lion passant stamped on every link. Some of the stamps are quite worn due to the age of the chain.
The dog clips measure approximately 24mm from end to end. One iis stamped with the maker’s mark of ‘W.W.C’. , the other with ‘H.B.& S’. They are both have the lion passant mark for silver.
The T bar is also stamped for silver with the lion passant mark. It has the date letter for 1918 and the maker’s mark of ‘W.W.C’. It measures 33mm across.
